Balmoral Golf Club, Belfast – Fred Daly

Founded in 1914, Balmoral Golf Club claims an association with four former Ryder Cup players: Fred Daly, David Feharty, Eddie Polland and Norman Drew.

Daly, who served as club professional, famously became the first Irishman to lift the Open Champion following his triumph at Royal Liverpool in 1947

Golfers and visitors from all over the world are assured of a warm and friendly welcome at Balmoral Golf Club and the course of 6,276 yards is an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all levels. Balmoral Golf Club is one of Northern Ireland’s top parkland courses situated in the leafy suburbs of South Belfast.
The course has been recently redeveloped with 18 new NSGA-specification bent grass greens, new tees and strategically relocated bunkers, providing a truly challenging par 69  test of golf.

Dungannon Golf Club – Darren Clarke

Formed in 1890, Dungannon Golf Club is a founder member of the Golfing Union of Ireland. This pleasant parkland course has been extended in recent years with the advice of its famous member Darren Clarke. Water hazards feature on three of the extended holes, the signature hole being the ninth with its elevated tee and magnificent views over the course and nearby historic town. 2009 saw six new greens open in the back nine.

Taking advantage of its well-drained 100 acres Dungannon, a club that is steeped in tradition, offers a different challenge at every hole. Generous fairways give plenty of space to avoid the rough, but wayward shots can be costly.

A balanced layout makes a pleasurable round for both handicap and scratch golfers. Good course management is necessary to allow safe negotiation of the water hazards and the true running greens are a fair test for your short game. After the game relax in a clubhouse built for comfort and craic. There are views over the seventh and 18th greens – and the first drive of the round.

Holywood Golf Club – Rory McIlroy

Holywood is an undulating parkland course neighbouring Redburn Country Park on the outskirts of Belfast City.

The course overlooks the city and Belfast Lough with views that are unrivalled in the area. To score well requires accurate driving as opposed to length and good approach shots are needed to find the greens. You will find the course enjoyable and be amazed by the scenery

“Holywood was a great course for me to learn the game on, it has all the traits that develop your game from playing it regularly. It helps you to learn to shape your shots, places emphasis on your short game and creates more versatile and adaptable golf game through the variety of different shots encountered. I have no doubt that the course helped me to become the golfer I am today” – Rory McIlroy

Royal Portrush Golf Club – Graham McDowell

Finish your trip in style at the home of the 2019 Open Championship, Royal Portrush, the allure of this Harry Colt classic grows by the day. The rhythm of the holes works beautifully, as the opening holes take you steadily out towards the ocean and the par four 5th. Named White Rocks, the dogleg masterpiece where everything, including the views, is on show from the raised tee and you are challenged to bite off as much as you can chew.

Royal Portrush presents a steady learning curve of how holes break and slide through natural channels, how the smallish greens sit neatly – often deceptively – into the dunes, and how fairway position means everything if you are to optimise your chances of getting close to the pin

Your luxury coach takes you from your hotel to your departure airport.
